Job Title: Lead Field Technician (Service & Warranty)
Department: Production
Reports To: Director of Production
Works Closely With: Site Manager, Service Technicians, Inspectors, Drone Pilot
Location: Southeast Michigan (Field-Based)
Employment Type: Full-Time (W2), Year-Round Position
Position Summary
The Lead Field Technician is the technical leader for roofing repairs and service work at RoofAdvisor.
This role bridges the gap between field execution and production oversight – serving as the go-to expert for repair strategy, diagnostics, and roofing system performance, while actively working in the field alongside the service team.
The Lead Field Technician supports and guides Service Technicians and Inspectors, ensures work is completed to RoofAdvisor standards, and handles more complex or escalated service situations.
This is a hands-on leadership role, combining technical expertise, field execution, team support, and customer interaction.
Core Responsibilities
Technical Expertise & Repair Leadership
- Serve as the field expert on roofing systems, repair methods, and installation standards
- Diagnose complex roofing issues and determine proper repair strategies
- Perform and support repairs involving:
- Shingles, flashing, penetrations, ventilation, siding, and water management systems required
- Flat roofing systems preferred
- Ensure all repairs align with:
- Manufacturer specifications
- RoofAdvisor quality standards
Field Leadership & Team Support
- Support and guide Service Technicians and Inspectors in the field
- Provide on-the-job coaching for:
- Repair techniques
- Diagnostics
- Documentation standards
- Assist with troubleshooting challenging or unclear service issues
- Help ensure consistency in how service work is performed across the team
Service Execution (Hands-On Work)
- Complete service and repair work as assigned
- Ensure work is completed efficiently and correctly the first time
- Reduce repeat visits and unresolved issues
- Procure materials
- Comfortable on ladders up to 3 stories
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete and maintain clear documentation for all service work:
- Inspection findings
- Repair plan and scope
- In-progress updates
- Final completion
- Capture organized photo and video documentation using company tools
- Ensure all job records are accurate, complete, and submitted on time
- Support and reinforce documentation standards across the service team
Customer Interaction & Professionalism
- Serve as a trusted, professional representative of RoofAdvisor in the field
- Communicate clearly with homeowners and property managers:
- Explain issues, solutions, and expectations
- Handle more complex or sensitive customer situations when needed
- Reinforce trust through professionalism, clarity, and follow-through
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with the Production Team on scheduling, materials, and job readiness
- Communicate job status, challenges, and updates in real-time
- Work alongside the Site Manager when service overlaps with active production jobs
Technology & Systems Usage
- Use company systems daily:
- GiddyUp
- CompanyCam
- Mobile phone / tablet
- Maintain organized and accurate digital job records
- Follow company standards for documentation and reporting
Safety & Compliance
- Follow and reinforce RoofAdvisor safety standards
- Ensure safe work practices in the field
- Identify and address potential hazards
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of roofing experience with strong repair and diagnostic skills
- Advanced understanding of:
- Roofing systems and installation methods
- Flashing details and water flow management
- Leak detection and failure analysis
- Ability to lead by example in the field
- Strong communication and professionalism with customers
- Comfortable using mobile technology and documentation tools
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Position Summary
RoofAdvisor is seeking an organized, tech-savvy, and customer-focused Office Administrator to support our growing team. This hybrid role includes managing the front desk, handling administrative coordination, and owning the appointment scheduling process. You’ll be the voice and face of RoofAdvisor—providing clarity, professionalism, and helpfulness from the very first interaction.
Our ideal candidate is a great communicator, comfortable managing a steady flow of activity with support, and is comfortable using modern software tools (CRM, email, text, IP phones, and calendar systems). You’ll work alongside an energetic, collaborative team that genuinely loves what they do—and we think you’ll love it here too.
Key Responsibilities
Reception & First Impressions
- Warmly greet walk-in visitors, answer calls, and respond to emails and SMS messages with professionalism and a friendly, helpful tone.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all inbound inquiries—resolving questions or routing them appropriately.
Scheduling & Appointment Coordination
- Schedule roofing inspections, estimates, and consultations using our CRM (GoHighLevel), Google Calendar, Phone, and SMS/email automation tools.
- Confirm bookings, send reminders, community updates, and ensure all customer details are properly captured in our CRM system.
- Help customers understand what to expect at each stage and make it easy for them to complete next steps (submit deposits, fill forms, select materials, etc.).
Administrative & Office Support
- Maintain digital records of customer agreements, deposits, project updates, and communication.
- Collaborate with project managers and sales teams to ensure smooth internal handoffs and task follow-through.
- Help track job status and customer follow-ups across departments using collaborative tools.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in a receptionist, marketing, scheduling, or customer service role.
- Confident using CRM platforms (GoHighLevel preferred), Google Workspace (Calendar, Gmail, Drive, Sheets), and communication tools (SMS, email platforms).
- Strong multitasking ability and organizational skills—able to manage a dynamic schedule with calm and precision.
- Clear, confident communicator who can engage customers over the phone, email, or text.
- Comfortable with KPIs, follow-up sequences, and working in a sales-adjacent environment.
Preferred Traits (Successful Candidates Often Have These)
- Background in appointment setting, customer service, call center, or inside sales.
- Experience managing multiple communication channels (voice, text, email) at once.
- High emotional intelligence and a natural ability to listen, empathize, and problem-solve.

Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on roofing, siding, and gutters
- Communication with customers and production team in a timely manner

Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
- One to three years of relevant repair experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Able to work independently
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Able to safely navigate roofing systems
- Able to work outside in a wide variety of weather conditions and to meet the physical demands of the position, including mobility needed to complete tasks
- Able to set up and climb ladders safely by yourself
- Safely operate tools of the trade (hand tools, power tools etc.)

Location:
This person will spend approximately 90% of their time in the field on the road and at customer sites, and approximately 10% of their time in the office / warehouse for meetings, scheduling, and picking up materials.
