RoofAdvisor No Leak Guarantee
A roof installation that performs exactly as it should
Your roof should not leak. Period. Our No Leak Guarantee is our in-house workmanship warranty and a promise that when RoofAdvisor installs a qualifying roofing system, you will not experience leaks caused by installation errors during the guarantee period.
If a covered leak occurs at any point during your guarantee window, RoofAdvisor will:
- Inspect the affected area
- Identify the source of the issue
- Complete the covered repair
- Document the findings and the work performed
This guarantee gives homeowners and property managers confidence that their complete roof system is installed correctly and supported by a company that stands behind its work.
What the No Leak Guarantee Covers
The No Leak Guarantee covers leaks that result from installation workmanship on any RoofAdvisor-installed roofing system. It applies to the roof areas included in your written scope of work.
What the No Leak Guarantee Does Not Cover
Certain conditions fall outside the scope of the No Leak Guarantee. These include:
- Storm, wind, or hail damage
- Damage caused by other contractors or new penetrations, such as satellite dishes or HVAC work
- Structural movement or settling that creates new openings
- Pre-existing damage outside the repaired or replaced areas
Your agreement will clearly outline your coverage period and any project-specific conditions.
Why Our No Leak Guarantee Matters
A properly installed roofing system should not leak during its lifespan. This guarantee ensures that if an installation-related leak occurs, RoofAdvisor will correct it without additional cost for covered items. It reflects our commitment to quality workmanship and long-term customer support.
RoofAdvisor Price Assurance Guarantee
The strongest pricing confidence in the roofing industry
Roof replacement is a major financial decision, and you should never feel unsure about the price you are paying. Our Price Assurance Guarantee gives you complete confidence that you are receiving the best value for the exact roofing system you choose.
How the Price Assurance Guarantee Works
If you find another licensed roofing contractor who provides a written estimate for the same roofing system at a lower price, RoofAdvisor will:
Refund the difference plus an additional $100
What Is Required for Price Assurance Eligibility
To qualify for the Price Assurance Guarantee, the competing estimate must:
- Be current, in writing, and itemized
- Include the same roofing system and components
- Match the same warranty level and ventilation design
- Be provided by a licensed and insured contractor
- Be submitted before the roof replacement begins
If you ever feel uncertain about a competing quote, we are happy to review it with you and explain any differences in system quality or warranty coverage.
Manufacturer Warranties From Certified Installers
Our Certifications Allow us To Offer Warranties That Many Contractors Cannot Match
Multiple manufacturers (GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed) have certified RoofAdvisor. Our certifications allow us to offer extended manufacturer warranties. These coverages CANNOT be provided through other roofing companies that are not certified.
Key Standard Warranty Terms to Understand
A standard roofing warranty often includes technical terms that can feel confusing. The definitions below provide clarity, so you know exactly what each term means and how it affects your coverage.
Lifetime Warranty
In roofing, “lifetime” coverage refers to the expected useful life of the roofing materials as defined by the roofing manufacturer. It does not mean the roof will last forever. Most lifetime shingle warranties apply to the original owner and may convert to a fixed coverage term when the property changes ownership.
Non-Prorated Coverage
A non-prorated period is the time during which the manufacturer pays the full cost of materials for a qualifying defect, without deducting for age or use. This is the strongest part of any warranty because you receive full value during this period.
Prorated Coverage
After the non-prorated period ends, coverage becomes prorated. This means the manufacturer reduces the amount they will pay based on the roof’s age. As the roof gets older, the percentage covered decreases, and the homeowner becomes responsible for a larger share of the cost.
Workmanship Coverage
Workmanship coverage protects you from installation-related issues. If a leak or failure is caused by how the roof was installed, workmanship coverage pays for the repair. RoofAdvisor offers both our own No Leak Guarantee and, on qualifying systems, long-term manufacturer-backed workmanship coverage.
GAF Warranty Basics
All GAF shingles come with a lifetime warranty. This warranty covers material defects in the GAF shingles and accessories installed as part of a new roof system. It can be transferred once to new homeowners and applies only to single-family homes.
For any other type of owner or building, such as a corporation, governmental entity, religious entity, condominium or homeowner association, school, apartment building, office building, or multi-use structure, the warranty is 40 years.
Also included in a GAF standard warranty:
- 10 Years non-prorated Smart Choice Protection
- 10-30 Years algae protection
- 15 Year Wind Warranty 110-130 mph
- Unlimited wind speed on layer lock shingles when installed with 3 qualifying products
Extended Warranty Master Elite Installers Can Offer
If you want access to GAF warranties with longer, non-prorated coverage and coverage for tear-off, disposal, and workmanship, you need to work with a certified installer.
RoofAdvisor is currently certified as a Master Elite Installer with GAF, a designation held by fewer than 2% of roofers nationwide. This certification gives us access to one of the best warranties in the home improvement industry.
The GAF Gold Pledge Limited Warranty:
- 50 Years non-prorated Smart Choice Protection
- Tear-off is covered when necessary for warranted repairs
- Disposal is covered when necessary for warranted repairs
- 25-30 years workmanship coverage
Owens Corning Warranty Basics
All Owens Corning architectural shingles include a Limited Lifetime Warranty for single-family detached homes. This warranty covers material defects in the shingles and qualifying Owens Corning system components.
For all other structure types, including condominiums, duplexes, apartments, HOAs, commercial buildings, institutional buildings, or any property not classified as a single-family detached home, the warranty term is 40 years.
Also included in an Owens Corning standard warranty:
- 10 years of non-prorate TRU PROtection material coverage for manufacturing defects
- 10-25 years of algae resistance
- 15-year wind warranty 110-130 mph
- One-time transfer available within the allowed timeframe
The standard warranty provides strong protection but does not include workmanship, tear-off, or disposal coverage.
Extended Warranty Preferred Contractors Can Offer
Enhanced Owens Corning warranties are only available through certified installers. RoofAdvisor is an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, which allows us to offer the Preferred Protection Roofing System Limited Warranty, a significant upgrade over the standard warranty.
The Owens Corning Preferred Protection Roofing System Limited Warranty:
- 50 years of non-prorated TRU PROtection period
- 10 years manufacturer-backed workmanship coverage
- Tear-off is covered when required for a warranted repair
- Disposal is covered when required for a warranted repair
CertainTeed Warranty Basics
All CertainTeed Landmark, Landmark Pro, and similar shingles include a Limited Lifetime Warranty for single-family detached homes. This warranty covers manufacturing defects in the shingles for as long as the original owner owns the home.
For all other structure types, including condominiums, duplexes, apartments, HOAs, commercial buildings, institutional buildings, or any property not classified as a single-family detached home, the warranty term is 40 years.
Also included in CertainTeed’s standard warranty:
- 10 Years SureStart Non-prorated Protection, 5 Years for non-single-family structures
- 25-30 Years Algae resistance protection
- 15 Years Wind warranty 110-130 mph
- One-time transfer available within CertainTeed’s guidelines
The standard warranty provides strong early life protection but does not include extended tear-off or disposal coverage unless upgraded.
Extended Warranty ShingleMaster Installers Can Offer
Enhanced CertainTeed warranties require a credentialed installer. RoofAdvisor is a CertainTeed ShingleMaster, which allows us to offer upgraded 4 Star warranties. These warranties extend the non-prorated coverage period and add tear-off & disposal coverage.
SureStart PLUS 4 Star Warranty
- 50 years of non-prorated material coverage for single-family homes
- 25 years for all other structures
- Tear-off is covered when required for a warranted repair
- Disposal is covered when required for a warranted repair
What These Different Warranties Cover
What Is Included
Coverage may vary depending on the warranty level you select. In general, the following items are commonly included when the roofing system is installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and registered under the appropriate warranty.
Installation-related leak coverage
Leaks caused by installation workmanship during your guarantee period are covered under the RoofAdvisor No Leak Guarantee.
Material defect coverage
Manufacturer warranties cover defects in roofing materials when the system is registered and installed in accordance with the required standards.
Full system component protection
Enhanced warranties protect all required system components, such as:
- Underlayment
- Starter strip products
- Ridge cap shingles
- Ventilation components
- Ice and water barriers
Manufacturer-backed labor coverage
Higher-level warranties include labor for qualifying material or workmanship failures, which reduces long-term out-of-pocket expenses.
Tear-off and disposal
Premium warranties may include the cost of removing and disposing of affected materials when a warranted repair is authorized.
Non-prorated protection periods
Many enhanced warranties offer strong initial coverage periods during which materials and labor are fully covered, with no depreciation.
Transferability
Several warranty levels can transfer to a new owner, thereby increasing the property’s resale value.
What Is Not Included
The following items are typically excluded from roofing warranties and guarantees. If you are unsure about any condition, RoofAdvisor will help clarify which conditions apply to your situation.
Storm, hail, wind, or impact damage
Weather-related damage is typically covered by property insurance.
Damage caused by other contractors
Work performed after the roof installation, such as satellite dish installation, HVAC penetrations, solar mounts, or electrical work, can void coverage if it affects the roofing system.
Improper or inadequate ventilation
A roof must have proper attic ventilation to perform correctly. Issues created by insufficient ventilation, blocked vents, or exhaust imbalances are not covered.
Pre-existing structural issues
Rotten decking, structural shifting, or water entry points unrelated to the roofing system are not covered unless specifically addressed in the project scope.
Alterations not performed according to the manufacturer’s requirements
Modifications to the roof system that do not comply with manufacturer guidelines may limit or void coverage.
If You Are Ever Unsure, We Are Your First Call
Roofing warranties can be detailed, and it is not always easy to know what applies. If you notice a leak or potential issue, RoofAdvisor will inspect the roof, document our findings, and explain whether the issue is covered. You will always know exactly what steps to take next.
How to Use Your Guarantee or Warranty
Clear steps and support whenever you need help
RoofAdvisor makes the warranty process simple. If you ever experience a roofing concern or believe you may have a warranty-related issue, we guide you through every step. Most homeowners and property managers only need this process once or twice in a roof’s lifetime, so it should always feel easy and stress-free.
If You Think You Have a Roofing Issue
Follow this simple process to begin a warranty or service request.
Step 1: Contact RoofAdvisor
Reach out by phone or through our service request form. Please provide a brief description of what you are seeing. You do not need to diagnose anything on your own.
Step 2: We Schedule an Inspection
A RoofAdvisor technician will visit your property to inspect the area of concern. We document everything with photos and notes, and we identify the source of the issue.
Step 3: We Explain What We Found
After the inspection, we review the findings with you. We clearly explain whether the issue is:
- Covered by the RoofAdvisor No Leak Guarantee
- Covered by your manufacturer’s warranty
- Covered by insurance due to storm or impact damage
- Outside the scope of any warranty, and simply needs repair
You will always know exactly why an issue occurred and what your options are moving forward.
Step 4: We Complete Any Covered Work
If the issue is covered by your RoofAdvisor guarantee or your manufacturer’s warranty, we complete the required repair at no cost for the covered items. We also update your records to document the work completed. If it is an insurance matter, we will help you file the claim and complete the repairs.
What You Receive After Your Project Is Complete
Once your roofing project is finished, we provide a complete documentation package that includes:
- RoofAdvisor No Leak Guarantee documentation
- Manufacturer warranty registration or certificates
- Photos of the completed work
- Notes about system components used on your roof
- Any project-specific details needed for future records
We recommend storing these documents with your home or property records so they are easy to access later.
Important Tips for Using Your Warranty Smoothly
To make the process as easy as possible, we recommend the following:
- Report issues early so they can be addressed quickly
- Avoid altering the roof or adding penetrations without speaking with us first
- Keep your roofing documentation in a single place
- Contact us whenever you are unsure if something is covered

How long does the RoofAdvisor No Leak Guarantee last?
The coverage period depends on your roofing system, property type, and project scope. Your written agreement will list your exact guarantee term. We review this information with you before work begins to avoid surprises.
What is the difference between the RoofAdvisor No Leak Guarantee and a manufacturer's warranty?
The No Leak Guarantee is our in-house labor warranty that covers installation-related leaks during the guarantee period.
Manufacturer warranties cover material defects and, with enhanced warranty levels, can also include long-term manufacturer-backed workmanship coverage. Both types of protection work together to provide stronger overall coverage.
What is the standard warranty for a roof?
Most asphalt shingle roofs include a manufacturer’s material warranty. For single-family homes, this is often a limited lifetime warranty. For multi-family, HOA, or commercial buildings, the warranty term is typically 40 years.
Standard warranties usually include an early non-prorated period covering materials and labor for manufacturing defects. After that period, coverage becomes prorated and usually applies to materials only.
Can my warranty be transferred to a new homeowner?
Many enhanced warranties can be transferred once. Requirements vary by manufacturer. We will explain the transfer process during your project, so you know exactly how it works if you plan to sell the property.
Does the warranty cover storm damage?
Storm, wind, hail, and impact damage are typically covered by property insurance. RoofAdvisor can assess the damage, document our findings, and help you determine whether an insurance claim is appropriate.
What if another contractor damages the roof after installation?
Damage caused by after-market work is not covered. This includes satellite dish installation, HVAC work, electrical penetrations, and any work that alters the roofing system. If you need work done on or near the roof, contact us first so we can guide you on the safest approach.
How long is a contractor liable for a roof?
Most roofing contractors offer 1 to 5 years of workmanship coverage. That coverage is only valid as long as the contractor remains in business.
With certified installers like RoofAdvisor, some roof systems qualify for manufacturer-backed workmanship coverage lasting 10, 15, 20, or even 25 years, depending on the manufacturer and warranty level.
Is a roof warranty worth it?
Yes, especially when it includes more than basic material coverage. A strong roof warranty can reduce long-term repair costs, protect against installation-related issues, and add resale value.
The most valuable warranties include manufacturer-backed labor coverage, not just materials.
