What Work Was Done?
RoofAdvisor completed a large-scale multi-family roofing and gutter replacement project for Milford Knolls in Milford, MI, focusing on long-term durability, weather protection, and improved drainage performance across 13 residential buildings.
The project included the installation of a complete roofing system using:

Multi-Family Roofing System Upgrades
To strengthen the roofing system throughout the property, the project included:
- Synthetic underlayment
- Ice and water barrier protection at eaves, valleys, sidewalls, and penetrations
- Pro-Start® starter shingles around the roof perimeter
- Cobra® SnowCountry® Advanced Ridge Vent
- GAF Seal-A-Ridge® ridge and hip shingles
Additional upgrades included:
- New aluminum drip edge
- Painted wall flashing and step flashing
- Replacement plumbing boots
- Updated bath vents
- New chimney flashing with fresh sealant
Because many of the buildings featured steeper roof sections, specialized steep-slope roofing installation techniques were used throughout the project.
Gutter System Upgrades
Along with the roofing replacement, RoofAdvisor upgraded the property’s drainage system by:
- Removing existing 5-inch gutters
- Installing new 6-inch seamless gutters
- Upgrading to oversized 3×4 downspouts
These larger gutter and downspout systems help improve water flow management during heavy rain and snow melt, reducing the risk of overflow and drainage-related issues across the property.
Clean Installation & Long-Term Protection
The project also included:
- Full tear-off and waste removal
- Dumpster service throughout the project
- Magnetic nail cleanup around all buildings
