Ahmad H.’s Review of His Dearborn Roof Repair Project

Ahmad H.
Ahmad H.

I would recommend Roof Advisor to anyone and everyone that needs support with their roof repairs. Paul C. was the individual that I worked with and he was EXCEPTIONAL! Hands down one of the best service I’ve ever had. Super knowledgeable and knows what he’s talking about. He made me feel like a true partner and I love the attention to detail and utilizing the iPads to take very specific photos to explain the issues going on. Very transparent and I didn’t feel forced or pressured to make the decision to work with them. All the more reason why I HAD to work with Paul and the Roof Advisor team. Highly recommend. I’d give 10 stars if I could which is rare in the industry.

Ahmad H.’s roofing project in Dearborn, MI focused on repairing several small areas of wear before they could develop into larger roofing problems. Rather than requiring a full roof replacement, the project combined preventative maintenance with a targeted structural repair on a sunroom roof to restore the roof’s weather resistance and extend the life of the existing roofing system.

Roofing Repairs Completed

The repair project included:

  • Sealing open valley ends
  • Refastening loose chimney apron flashing
  • Sealing exposed and popped roofing nails
  • Resealing pipe boot flashings
  • Sealing an opening along the roof ridge

These maintenance repairs addressed several common locations where water can enter an aging roof system, helping restore protection against future leaks.

Sunroom Roof Repair

In addition to the maintenance work, the project included repairing a section of the sunroom roof where the roof decking had begun to separate.

The repair included:

  • Removing the necessary shingles
  • Refastening the flared roof sheathing to the roof deck
  • Installing a new ice and water leak barrier
  • Reinstalling matching dimensional black shingles

Reinforcing the roof deck before reinstalling the roofing materials helps restore structural stability while providing additional moisture protection beneath the shingles.

Preventing Future Roof Leaks

Many roof leaks don’t begin with missing shingles. More often, they develop around flashing, valleys, roof penetrations, or areas where sealants have deteriorated over time.

By addressing these vulnerable areas, the repair helped:

  • Improve weather resistance
  • Reinforce aging roof components
  • Reduce the likelihood of future leaks
  • Extend the service life of the existing roof

Targeted maintenance like this can often resolve isolated issues before they require more extensive repairs.

A Cost-Effective Solution

Not every roofing concern requires a complete roof replacement. When the overall roof remains in good condition, preventative maintenance and localized repairs are often the most practical solution.

By repairing the sunroom roof, reinforcing the roof deck, and renewing sealants throughout the roofing system, this project restored the roof’s performance while helping the homeowner avoid more significant repairs in the future.

Following the work, Ahmad left RoofAdvisor a five-star review, reflecting his satisfaction with both the repair and the overall service experience.

Projects like this are common throughout Dearborn, where many older homes benefit from proactive maintenance that addresses isolated roofing issues while preserving the remaining life of the existing roof.
